Damn. I thought I had disabled the auto update. I’ll do it properly next release haha, since it is buggy sometimes

Hi SubJunk.
How about the bug with DTS not working? Do you know the culprit and when it will be fixed?
Many thanks:-)
July 10, 2011 at 11:12 am
I had several problems with the latest SB34 build. Subtitles won’t work and the sound has distortion. I had to go back to SB33 to fix it. Just thought I’d let you know. I tested them with some episodes of X-Files.

Just wanted to say a big thankyou for your work on this project.
I have never been able to get PMS working on my hardware -mencoder would always crash and different versions did not help- but your Subjunk build works fine first go.
Many many thanks from me.
July 11, 2011 at 11:16 am
@ExSport: Yes, I have fixed it and will release a new version soon when I’ve finished some other things π
@Leon: Great! Thanks a lot for the support π

I am having problems with media encoded with header stripping. It is coming up with Corrupted Data on my PS3 in SB37. Gonna change to SB38 and hopefully it works. This has not been a problem for me since SB25.
July 31, 2011 at 7:13 am
SB38 did the same. I went back to SB25 and I can watch the media now.
August 1, 2011 at 10:46 am
@Richard: Thanks for letting me know, I’ll test it
August 2, 2011 at 10:42 pm
1.31.0-SB34 is still the best and only one that does encode all kinds of DTS audio to 2 channel PCM audio.
and it doesn’t give ‘corrupted data’ on mkv with dts audio and external .srt subtitles files!!!

I have a small problem. It has been across every version of PS3 Media Server i have tried and on multiple computers. Subtitles always display a fraction of a second too early using all default settings. If I disable A/V sync alternative method they are closer to where they should be but then the audio/video is a fraction of a second off. I was wondering if there was some way to set a global offset for subtitles? Thanks a lot for your hard work!
August 6, 2011 at 9:15 pm
@Hello: Thanks for your comment. There is no option like that right now, sorry.
However you can use MKVMerge, part of MKVToolnix, to set the offset yourself manually

Thanks a LOT for this: “Fixed seeking (Go To) for ASS/SSA subtitles”

With this Build 52 i become the Error Message: Fehler beim Medienserver Ein DLNA Protokollfehler 2114 ist aufgetreten. I must go Back to Build49, there i havent this Error. Is This a Bug?

I’m still after a year of using PS3MS getting the same problem where I have to tell it to play something twice before it will actually play – ANYONE got a fix for this?
Example:
I enter the server using my TV (Sony Bravia 32EX503), I select the file to play. file seems to load fine, and nothing looks wrong in the PS3MS log, but the screen is just blank. it appears that the file is playing because the time on the video file goes up, but nothing is onscreen, no audio either.
To get it to work, I have to back out of the video, then exit the server in the menu, or simply go back 1 directory on the server, and then go back in and play the same file again, and this second time it works fine. happens with every file i’ve ever used after 1+ year of using this. happens with my PS3 too but I hardly ever use that I just use my Sony TV mostly.
October 29, 2011 at 12:06 am
Subjunk. I have updated to 51,52 and 53 of the newest release. I keep having to downgrade to 49 to get playback. Problem does not seem to be with files as it doesnt get that far. When selecting ps3mediaserver on the ps3 it comes up with DLNA error and its not able to show any directories or files.
Is anyone else having this issue??

Thanks again!

First of all; Thanks for all your hard work!
But I had to downgrade to build SB49 too… I wasn’t able to play a few files after upgrading (in my case MKV’s from various sources)

Thanks a lot you are doing a hard work here, I really apreciate it.
I have a HTPC that I assemble: AMD Phenom Triple core black edition 4 gigas ram, and always the ps3 media server transcode like a charm even with losseless setting active but since the version 1.30 and higher I think began the trouble with my MKV 1080P files. the transcoder was choppy and the dark night movie at the scene of the thieves on the roof, the movie suddenly stopped and play again that was very annoying. even with somes 720p movies had problems.
I reinstall PS3 without success, reinstall java old version, change the plugh rj45 on my GBit Lan, even change my Gbic Switch. and the only think that work for sure was the Sub Junk 56 of PS3 Media Server. That was all, Im not sure what was that problem but this work fine for me. I made the test with the dark night 1080p and very fluid video again. Now I can enjoy in my room with the tv lg lv4400 that santa brought me.
Really you help a lot and my Children can watch the disney pixar movies in HD now

SubJunk,
Thanks again for your great work. I do have a small problem, but not sure whatβs causing it. All my MKV HD files play just fine, but I noticed that one in particular (my backup of Thore BD) is having issues. During playback I am getting about 4 or so horizontal video bands across the screen. It happens at each scene change which is about every few seconds or so. They show up and then clear right up. The action scenes are fine, just the scene changes. If I play the exact same movie in a .m2ts container I donβt get the banding. Also I play the mkv through VLC and on my PC and it works fine there as well. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Can you tell me
January 30, 2012 at 7:03 am
Iβm running vSB60 and my video keeps freezing up every 20 minutes or so. If I restart the video all is well until the next time. I took a look at the debug.log file and every time the video freezes up I notice the following is being logged.
[UPNP-AliveMessageSender] DEBUG 12:34:21.199 Sending ALIVE…
Should I be moving to vSB61? Thanks
January 30, 2012 at 10:39 am
@MustangPC: Yes π

SubJunk,
Installed SB63. Still getting the video lockups. I took a snippet of the debug.log file whenever this happen. Hopefully this will show something. Thanks.

SubJunk,
Any ideas on what could be causing the video lockup? SB64 doing the same thing and logging the same thing. Thanks again in advance!
February 10, 2012 at 4:26 pm
Subjunk,
Some more info on this issue. Again any help would be appreciated!
computer specs:
Intel I7 580 chip running windows 7 64 bit Pro with 24 gig of ram
PMS version: 1.50.1
Using Linksys WRT54G / 100mbps to PS3 (wired)
Transcodeing a HD mkv file with DTS HD using MEncoder.
Problem:
I am able to stream just fine meaning Iβm getting the pure HD video (AVC) and DTS audio stream to my receiver, but the problem is that I get video freeze ups with the audio still going. If I hit stop and then play again it continues just fine to the next freeze up. I noticed that every time I get a freeze up the debug.log file says the following.
[Thread-266] DEBUG 20:12:16.759 Disconnected pipe: \\.\pipe\1328836171481videoout
[Thread-265] DEBUG 20:12:17.257 Error: Pipe closed
Any advice or help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!DMBarney
